Is you business eligible?
We’re back with another quick update on some additional financial assistance that could help small businesses get through this very uncertain time. The government has introduced the Jobkeeper Payment.
Basically, how this program works is that you will receive $1500 per fortnight up to six months for all your employees if your business qualifies.
There’s no cap on the number employees that this is available too. In order to be a eligible for this, you will have to show the ATO that there has been a decrease of 30% in your business revenue over the same period from last year to this year, for a minimum of a one month period.
Those businesses who are turning over more than a billion dollars, you have to show the ATO that there has been a 50% reduction in your revenue over the same period compared to last year.
You will be required to apply for this through the ATO as they will require supporting documents to see your 30% decline in revenue in order for them to start making the payments to you.
This scheme covers all your full time employees, your part time employees and casual employees that have been with your business for at least 12 months prior to the first of March 2020.
This also applies to all your employees that you have stood down or made redundant from the first of March 2020. The payments will be made in arrears, and they’ll start from the first week of May 2020.
